BIO:
Luca Pasquini (b. 2004) is a NYC-based composer & pianist. Luca’s emotionally fluent music explores timbres and themes of the natural and supernatural worlds. His work encapsulates various mediums, from the concert music stage to music for dance and film, and is inspired by multiple genres including alternative and indie rock, electronic music, and jazz.
Luca’s music has been recognized by organizations such as the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, National YoungArts Foundation, National Young Composer’s Challenge, Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards, Tribeca New Music, the National Federation of Music Clubs, and more. He was recently a participant of the 2024 Salastina Sounds Promising Cohort and is the recipient of the Alumni Commission. He has collaborated with new music groups such as the Playground Ensemble, UnHeardOf Ensemble, Dither Electric Guitar Quartet, and Chamber Project St. Louis. He has attended summer music festivals at the Yellow Barn Young Artist Program, the Atlantic Music Festival, and the Boston University’s Tanglewood Institute where his music was premiered by the Young Artists Orchestra as a part of Tanglewood on Parade at the Koussevitzky Music Shed. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music at New York University’s Steinhardt School, studying under Robert Honstein, Michael Gordon, and Justin Dello Joio. His past teachers include Leanna Kirchoff and Brad Marcotte.
